Do you have a Summer uniform? Each season, I tend to gravitate to particular pieces in my closet repeatedly. Eventually I end up with a single outfit that becomes my home base. I reach for it as often as possible because it is comfortable, easy, and often looks more pulled together than anything else similar. In previous years, my Summer uniform has typically been an easy dress of some sort. This year, it’s shorts and a tank. Who knows what it will be next year, but if you run into me at any point this Summer, there is a fifty percent chance that I will be wearing this exact outfit.
Now you may be wondering why I am sharing this with you gals, especially as it isn’t all that exciting. But when you find something that works – like really works – you have to share it with your gal pals! Ok, let’s get into the four pieces that I’m wearing nonstop!
Pull On Shorts
Whoever in the casual fashion world decided to make elevated pull on shorts a thing is my personal hero. I love, love, love these and man do they make my life easier. Not only are they so comfortable, they’re usually in slightly dressier materials which elevate the look of them. You can shop mine here, but there are only a few left. If they happen to be available in your size, they’re under $18 right now!

Tank
This tank is from last year, still available now and all around awesome. I’ve used it for literally everything – daytime, sleep and the gym. It’s so versatile and not crazy expensive. Just writing this reminds me to order more colors! All three are available here. The other great part is that this super flattering top only costs $20 and ships free if you have Prime.

Classic Flip Flops
I’ve loved this style of J.Crew flip flop since I first discovered it in high school. My girlfriend and I would buy a new pair every Summer, usually in gold or silver. I have at least two pairs on hand at all times, but this new style is a little different. Instead of a flat wood bottom, it is more of a plastic and so much easier to walk in. These same sandals in silver were what I wore during our wedding reception!

Cross Body Bag
This is not a ground breaking piece of any Summer uniform, but it’s practically a necessity. It’s the evolution of the clutch from ten years ago (think no kids, weekends spent out doing adult things) to the hands-free option that can’t get lost or dropped. My exact bag is no longer available, but the most similar one is here.

I tried something a little different with this blog post – I put the pictures below my text. I’m really hoping you will share your thoughts with me on this. Do you prefer pictures first then text or the opposite, like in this post? Or do you prefer when the pictures and text are evenly broken up throughout the post? I actually don’t think I prefer any way over the other when writing or reading them. But I would love to know your feelings on this and how you prefer to see/read posts!
Do you have a Summer uniform? And I had to add in the gratuitous cute baby shot at the end because she was posing so hard for the camera that it was too cute not share!
Thank you so much for reading and have a great rest of your day!

So cozy chic! I need to switch up my sundresses to more pull on shorts <3
Green Fashionista
Highly recommend! I honestly feel like I’m wearing pj’s all day, and I am totally okay with it!
