Hi friends! Since it is full on Summer in the South I thought it would be the perfect time chat about my 12 Summer Essentials. You know, before Summer is over in the flash that it usually is. I have a few things that I consider Summer Essentials – dainty gold earrings and dry shampoo are at the top of my list – and want to share them with my favorite ladies today. I also want to hear your favorites in case I’m missing out on something!
Beach themed jewelry is very on trend right now for Summer. Shells are the biggest stand out and particularly gold or neutral toned ones. A bracelet that makes you take a second look to tell if it’s shells or just an artistic element is a fun way to incorporate a beach element into your look. Don’t go overboard though, or it can come off as cheesy, so make sure to stick to one piece with shell details only!
This is really a necessity to keep sun off your face. There are endless reasons why you should wear a hat during the Summer – sun protection for your face and scalp are at the top of the list. This hat as SPF 50 and is packable, perfect for protection and Summer travels!
I’m going to point out that this is probably another trendy item and because it’s such a quick moving trend I recommend going more of the dupe route for this. This pink headband is a steal and gives the same look as its pricier inspirations. It’s the perfect piece for messy hair days! The best part about this one is probably it’s $1 price point and all five star reviews.
Slides are definitely still a Summer it shoe and are here to stay for the long haul. I love this style for it’s versatility and added touch of glam. They match everything and are easy to wear as flip flops, but with more finesse. The sparkles make them perfect for dressing up a nighttime look without sacrificing the comfort on your feet.
I obviously had to go with a leopard print for my pick in this category. I’ve been wearing these shorts practically nonstop and love them and how they look pulled together, but are still so comfortable to wear. They can be easily dressed up or down depending on your shoes and accessories. I find this pair to run larger, so take your true size or go down one.
A perennial Summer staple – the little white dress. It matches everything, feels appropriate for any event or occasion, and is totally bleachable! Pack this on every trip you take and wear it as a cover up, a day dress, or dinner and drinks look and save on suitcase space! Here and here are white dress posts I’ve done – I keep coming back to this style for good reason!
Straw bags are a classic Summer essential and match everything. There are so many great, affordable options to scoop up right now, including this bag that I’ve been carrying lately. It’s only $32 but looks pricier, plus it can fit a ton in it and is really easy to carry, even while holding a toddler. A quick browse of any retailer should provide options for any style you like from totes to cross body shapes. Here is a post I did with a cute straw bag a couple of years ago.
For everyday Summer jewelry, dainty gold earrings are a must. They are easy and chic, and the most perfect piece of fine jewelry to invest in without spending a fortune. These are something to put in and not worry about. Gold is more durable than other materials, so I love wearing mine 24/7. They won’t overpower your look, but add visual appeal when your hair is pulled back, which mine is all season. Plus, there is just something so timeless about gold jewelry paired with a tan.
I’m not sure if this is even the correct term for this style of bag, but it’s the classic Staud piece – a bucket style shape covered by a detailed mesh and leather handles. To be honest, this took a bit for me to appreciate, but I really love it now. It’s chic without being over the top and the mesh detailing gives it a Summery kick. P.S. it’s on sale right now for 4o percent off!
Lightweight sun protection comes in the form of the most classic shape and style of sunglasses. There are so many new styles that add fun updates to the original style, like this pair. Keep your eyes safe and your style on point.
There are basic bathing suits and then there are glam ones. A glam one has more a detailed cut and a fabulous pattern. I’m always partial to leopard (obviously if you know me.) This leopard one has a fantastic cut and the colors are luxurious. If you’re traveling, this suit can work as a bodysuit for non-beach wear, too!
I had to save the best for last! Just kidding, these are all great, but dry shampoo is just a necessity. Sun and warm temperatures are a recipe for oily hair – so spray away to make your blow outs last longer! I’m currently obsessed with this dry shampoo!
What are your Summer Essentials? Do you have any of these and love them?
Hope you are having a great week!
