What I Bought From the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Happy Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!  In the blogging world, this is a treasured holiday.  And as someone who loves shopping and fashion, as well as a deal, it’s a personal favorite!  Now, all of the top tier members have had a couple of days to shop already, but the sale is now open to all cardholders.

I’m taking a different approach to the sale and how I blog it this year.  In years past, I’ve woken up at three am to shop for hours, organize items into categories and share them on the first morning of Early Access.  Because the sale was different this year – two higher statuses were able to shop early this week – I changed it up.  Instead, I took a hard look at my cart and decided to share from there.  If I’m not buying it or do not already own it, I’m not sharing it.

There are pages upon pages of items in every category to shop.  And it is quite easy to start adding things that you may not need to your cart.   Think of it like a trip to Target – where you go leave with nothing you needed and everything you didn’t.  I’m trying not to let that happen to me this year, and I want the same for you.  I promise you none of my picks are ones that I wouldn’t be shopping myself.  This is a great time to get a head start on your Christmas shopping, too!  I tackle so many gifts on our lists and stock my gift closet, as well.

It’s also great for shopping for winter jackets for your little ones and when we always snag our back to school shoes.  If my kids love a pair, I will buy their current size and the next one up.  This way they have a new pair waiting in January when they inevitably grow.  I also buy up one or two sizes in the North Face for their jackets.  We have been able to get years of wear out of their jackets this way!

I’m noticing that best sellers from past years were back again.  I’m a fan of this because you know what to expect, and because it focuses on quality items to stock up on.  I thought the kids shoe selection was great this year, as was the women’s sneaker array.  Workout wear in general was strong for women!  The tops and dresses were not anything special in my personal opinion, but I still have a couple coming to try on.

So this isn’t a super elaborate post, but it is very honest and a real look at purchases, not recommendations.  You can click on the icon by any image to shop.  I will share my thoughts on things when they start arriving!  I’m going to be super honest and let you know that several of my items are already cancelled because they were not able to fulfill the order.  I’ve also had shipping delays – and I paid extra for fast shipping.  So do take this all into account, as I’m a bit disappointed in these situations.

Somehow, I got earlier access a few hours before the sale started, which is why I got so many things I hoped to. It was random good luck!

LOVE the idea of buying the kiddos 2 pairs of shoes. One in their current size, and then the next size up as well <3

It makes life SO much easier, especially because they tend to like the same style of shoes over and over again. With the rate at which they all grow, it’s nice to save a little!
