Life Lately

Happy Monday ladies!  It’s the perfect day to play a little catch up and chat over a (giant) cup of coffee!

Life Lately

beauty

I’ve found a hair salon in the Atlanta burbs that is open on Sundays and late on Saturdays.  It has been a total game changer for me to squeeze in appointments that I normally would have to put off.  I’m trying to get more of my natural color and less of the blonde, so I got my first color melt.  It’s super subtle, but I’m loving the idea of going longer between appointments. And the dreaded line where the highlights start and the real hair ends.   I’ve also been doing a little more shopping of the drugstore beauty aisles and testing new products.  There are lots of misses, but there are really a lot of hits that I’m so pleasantly surprised about, especially in the lip color department.  I’m planning a big beauty post focusing on these finds that I can’t wait to put together!

style note: These sunglasses are only $10 and have lasted me three years so far.  An amazing quality dupe!

Life Lately

asheville

We spent a few days with Josh’s family in Asheville last week.  Actually, outside of Asheville in the mountains, where it is absolutely gorgeous.  We really loved the city and all of it’s quirkiness next to breathtaking mountain views.  The guys were all super happy the amazing breweries around the city lol.  We didn’t make it to the Biltmore on this trip, but hopefully on our next visit!  I love how many amazing places are within a few hours drive of Atlanta that we get to explore.

style notes:  I wore these sweats daily while we were there and they are so cozy and the distressing is so much fun!

Life Lately

kids

I don’t know if it is the time of year or just some really funky luck, but my kids have been sick virtually nonstop for the last month almost.  It started with strep for Avery and I and then turned into a stomach bug for all three kiddos.  And now, it is a constant rotation of stomach bugs in our house. As in, three different incidences of it last week alone.  My house needs a deep cleaning and Josh and I could use a serious nap.  Is there a reason kids decide to get sick in the middle of the night?  Or is it only mine that do this?  Riley is also getting her molars in, very slowly, so she isn’t herself right now.  It breaks my heart when my babies are in teething misery – please share any tips you have for helping them through it!

style notes: My go-to outfit lately are high waist workout leggings and a cozy cardigan.  Perfect for when you have no idea when you will be leaving your house again or not knee deep in puke.

Life Lately

home

I’ve been in sweats almost everyday the past month, if you couldn’t already tell.  But I’m tackling all of the projects at once right now, so it’s a good excuse! I’m working on a new playroom, completely (re-ish)organizing our kitchen and tackling pretty much all of the other rooms in our house.  It’s almost like we never fully unpacked and settled in when we moved.  Our basement and kitchen renovations didn’t help that, and I really let things pile up and get to be way too much.  It’s so easy to do that when you have kids and weekend plans, but I’m motivated and focused now!  I’ve been at the Container Store so much that the woman at checkout said to me “see you tomorrow” the other day. LOL.

style notes: If you see this sweatshirt at Target, grab it! Make sure to size up if you don’t want it to be super cropped!

Life Lately

blog

I’ve got some amazing giveaway coming up to thank you all for your support on my little slice of the Internet.  My Formulate giveaway is still open, enter here and read the post here.  I’m working on Spring content right now because the warm weather is coming! (even if it doesn’t feel like it right now, brr!)  I’m hoping to get some of my crazy house projects finished as well to share on here.  It’s been a bit since I’ve gotten any sort of home or organization post together – which should explain how much a hot mess my house was/is.  If there is anything you would like to see on the blog, email me please! dashofprettyblog@gmail.com

style notes: I love this lightweight jacket so much because it’s packable and super warm all at once.  My earrings are showing sold out everywhere, but I see them popping up on Poshmark and eBay!
