Hey babes!  I’m starting Faster Way to Fat Loss with my amazing coach Stacy Davis.  It’s been on my mind to try this after seeing so many friends have so much success with it.  I’ve done a lot of research into it and I think that intermittent fasting and carb cycling are going to really help get my metabolism back.  Plus, the benefits to your gut health are huge.  This is the first week, so wish me luck (I’m terrible at sticking with things.) I’m planning a post with more details when I finish, so please ask any questions you may have!

So today, let’s chat about fitness wear.  Half of a healthy life is lived through getting your body moving in some way or another.  I’m a huge Barre3 fan myself.  It got me through my pregnancy with Riley, but I really fell off the wagon with it after she was born.  I’m trying to get to class at least once a week right now, and the workout has changed so much that it is legitimately kicking my butt every time I go.  Like, I cannot walk for days in the best possible way.  While I love getting my workouts in, I rarely have time to get showered and changed until Riley has gone to bed for the night.  I know, way gross and probably TMI, but I’m going to assume that I am not alone in this.  So today, we are chatting about how to get that barre workout in and head out for your day!

 

What To Wear

Slip On Sneaker

My Sneakers
When I’m in the barre studio it’s barefoot central, but I can get easily skeeved out by going shoeless in the bathroom.  I typically stow my shoes, set up my workout spot, and need to hit the restroom one last time before class begins.  Slip on’s are key for this, or if you need to hustle in or out of class in a hurry.   For post-workout, this type of sneaker tends to look more shoe and less gym attire.

Legging

My Leggings
Not all workout leggings are made the same when it comes to passing as everyday clothing.  A black pair is going to take you from studio to street better than any other color.  A pair with a sheen or faux leather look is not only versatile, but a little more edgy.  Plus, they can double as a normal legging anytime.

Tunic

A tunic is the perfect way to cover up a workout tank and cover your tush at the same time!  I’ll be honest, it is an Amazon purchase and it’s kind of eh.  They quality and material aren’t the best, but the cut and fit are fantastic for leggings.  It runs smaller, so size up for a looser fit and washing shrinkage.

Tote

My Tote
Great for stashing shoes, a water bottle, deodorant, or whatever you need.  You do not need to spend a fortune to get a great tote – Target has some adorable ones at awesome prices!  The size is what matters in this situation.  You’re able to fit so many post-workout beauty items you may need, or even an extra top in this type of bag.  The structure of it will also dress it up more than a typical gym bag.

Watch

Apple Watch
A watch that can get your texts (no phones in class!) and track your workout stats is great to have.  I’m planning an entire post around these, but I feel like they’re a workout game changer.  And are so great for everyday wear! A cute band makes it more personalized and can match any look – in or out of the studio.

I’m only three days in to the actual program, but the prep week was really interesting and I asked trainers and nutritionists their thoughts on it, and fasting is one of the only “diet” things that everyone can’t say anything bad about.
