Happy Monday babes! Pour yourself a big cup of coffee before you start reading this – it’s going to be a little bit of catch up.  Plus, it’s a Monday!  I promise I’m going to talk about this black dress for Fall, but first, a little girl talk because you’re my ladies.

Last week, my first baby, Avery turned ten.  Double digits.  It doesn’t seem like such a big deal to her, but to me, I’m all sorts of emotions over my baby hitting a decade of life.  Every birthday seems like such a milestone and so filled with all of the feelings.  But this is one of those big gut punch ones.  After this, her next big birthday will be 16, which is going to come up scary fast based on how quickly this one came.  And then it’s just on and on from there.

I’ve been struggling with remembering her as a baby lately.  And it is breaking my heart.  There are very distinct memories, but it’s so far removed that they all get a bit more blurry with time.  She’s from before iPhones had cameras, so blurry digital pictures are our memories.  I’ve been down a mom black hole of digging them all up and ogling over them. I know I’m a broken record with this, but time is such a thief!

Completely unrelated to the never-ending stream of wah-my-kids-are-growing-up is the always fun first cold of the season.  We’ve started playing pass the plague at our house and Riley and I got it last, this past week.  I’ve completely forgotten how hard it is to be sick with small children (probably blocked it out for good reason!)  Yes, I’ve been dragging, exhausted, and unproductive, but sick babies are heart breaking.  I’m always so grateful that it’s just a cold and something it will pass.  But, every time they cough or run a fever, it just fuels my crazy lady emotions.  Maybe I should have called this post I’m always so mom-emotional!  Gosh, I’m so happy we have Mondays and new weeks with fresh starts!

But back to the real topic at hand: this black dress for Fall.  I snagged this on good old Amazon after Katey posted it {she never steers me wrong!} It’s not something I would typically go for, but I love the drapey tee shirt fit and the adjustable length.  I wore it straight at first, but because we were pumpkin shopping {in case you couldn’t tell.}  I ended up tying it to avoid tripping and getting it dirty.  In cooler temperatures it will be so cute with an oversize sweater and booties. The best part is that it is under $25! And it is a very forgiving style.  I’m in a medium, so I would say it fits true to size.  It’s perfect for Fall because you can adjust the length, it’s light enough for hotter temperatures, and the sleeves give you a little coverage for cooler ones.  And, yes, I’m very awkwardly holding a pumpkin in these pictures because #fall and #blogger. 😂

If you made it through all of this (especially on a Monday) thank you for reading!  And allowing me to dish with you all! 😘  Hope your week is off to a great start!

    • Girl if I had any idea how she got to be ten, I would be pausing time. Snuggle that sweet little babe close, it goes by way too fast!

    • You definitely should! It’s gotten significantly better in the past few months – but always read the reviews because sizing can be so all over the place!

  1. I LOVE the way this dress looks on you! So fun! Life goes so fast! I have a hard time remembering the baby years but sometimes outta the blue, a sweet memory returns. I know you savor every second of these years!

    • Thank you sweet friend! That so perfectly describes it – not being able to remember until a random memory comes out of the blue and just gets you right in the heart. Every moment is so precious (and too fast!) Hope that you have a fabulous weekend! XO
