Hey, hey babes! Today, I want to chat time management. Time management is a skill I am majorly lacking in these days. In fact, it’s quite laughable for me with two elementary school age kids and a baby. Yet, I still see so many people with so much more on their plates managing their time so well. And I am envious. But this is the good kind of envy that is motivating me to work towards learning how to budget my time in the best and most efficient way possible for myself and my family.
I am using three basic tools right now to get my ish together-
Use A Calendar
This may seem so simple, but sometimes I need a reminder to do this. In fact, two calendars are better than one. Meaning, I try to write everything down in my planner and then once a week, add it all to my phone. If it’s something really important, I try to set an alarm on my phone calendar to remember. It may seem time consuming to do both, but it really helps keep things from falling through the cracks.
This is incredibly efficient for me when I need to crack down on my time. It takes a little work to plan, and get in the groove of it, but it really helps me focus on tasks and completing them in a set time frame.
I am working on setting blocks of time each day for work, writing, and emails, etc. Cleaning our house, laundry and meal prep are getting time blocks as well. This allows me more free time to just focus on the kids without trying to juggle other things at the same time, i.e. folding laundry while entertaining Greyson and Riley. It also helps to work around any plans we have and gives me larger windows of free time.
Wear A Watch
I need to wear a watch. It keeps me on track and on time and is just a necessity for me. With baby feedings, work calls, and juggling kids’ schedules, I am checking the time constantly.
Watches are so hit or miss for me, because I am very conscious of how they feel on. Finding a more oversized look without the weight is so hard. Because of this, I have a jewelry box full of unworn watches ticking away.
Here is why I love my Jord wood watch: I got the oversize look I love with the light weight feel I need. It’s so light weight that I can wear it comfortably during a workout, even more comfortably than my smart watch. And it is wood, how crazy cool is that? I love unique watches and these are some of the prettiest ladies watches I have found. Plus, it helps keep me on time and on schedule.
Jord offers a great selection of mens watches if you have a man in your life that you need to shop for or needs help with time management (I won’t mention any names here. 😉) You can also add watch engraving to any ladies watches or mens watches purchased from Jord.
