Dress: Michael Stars / Shoes: Sam Edelman / Bag: Tory Burch / Earrings: BaubleBar
Be prepared to see this navy racerback dress on repeat. If you know me in real life, then you already have. In fact, if you’re my friend, you may be like “I’m so over this!” It’s not even currently that warm out and I have worn this thing to death!
I love the length and fit of this dress. My legs are crazy when I’m pregnant so I like to hide them as much as possible. As much as I love a spacious maxi dress, I love a good fitted frock. Yes, I said frock. I love that this dress hides my legs but still fits snugly. It’s perfect for hot days because it’s so light. It’s also great for layering a cardigan or light jacket over for cooler temperatures.
Unlike most Michael Stars pieces, this comes in true sizes. I find it to run small, as it is meant to be clingy. I am up a size in this and could easily go up one more. There is rouching on the sides, but it is definitely more close cut on the tummy. I plan on wearing this post baby, there will most definitely be some serious Spanx involved. Ok, there are already Spanx involved.
One more note: if you have a stick on bra, wear it! This can show the sides of a strapless or racerback bra because of it’s side cut. I keep mine hidden, but have to readjust from time to time.
Can you see the exhaustion in my eyes? The baby energy level zap is real and in full effect!
This dress may be an example of trying to hard to make it work. However, I kind of don’t care because it is so comfortable. Plus, when you’re pregnant, you do what you gotta do, right? This totally brings to mind Rachel Green pregnant on Friends, with her way too small tank top on, belly hanging out. There is no shame in the trying to get through pregnancy game!
