Recent Beauty Favorites

You all know how much I love shopping for beauty products, but when you’re pregnant and *nothing fits except sweatpants* buying cosmetics becomes even more addictive.  Why?  Because they always fit, no matter what!  I’m definitely steering away from certain ingredients because of pregnancy, but that has helped pushed me to try new things, especially more natural/clean beauty products.

I’m rounding up some recent favorites of mine that I have been using and loving!

DevaCurl Waves Ahead Shampoo – I was sent a bunch of these travel packs to try and have been using them on both myself and Avery.  Our verdict: we love!  They sell in larger pump sizes (think Costco size) that I plan on ordering when we move.  This shampoo is so light and seriously is weightless.  It doesn’t really lather at all, but it definitely lets my curls and waves breathe, and the same with Avery’s wavy hair.  Plus, the smell and the cheeky name are fantastic.

DevaCurl Weightless Waves Conditioner –  This is just as awesome as the shampoo it pairs with.  Again, super light weight but gets the job done and smells amazing!  I like to let it sit on my hair for a couple of minutes to really deep condition.

Living Proof Amp Volume Texturizer – A girlfriend of mine recommended this and I am so glad she did.  I thought it was for short hair only at first, but it’s actually a really great, versatile product for all hair lengths and types.  I use this on myself and on Greyson, and Josh could totally use it too.  I take a small bit and rub between my fingers to break it down a little.  I then use it to tame flyaways, help style waves and curls and fix any wonky ends.  It works as a styling creme for little boy hair, to help hold hair in place.

Beauty Counter Charcoal Cleansing Bar – This little bar is pure magic.  It takes so little to lather up and wash with that it will last you forever, plus it gives you a really great deep clean without drying.  My skin is really broken out since getting pregnant, and this is helping to keep things at bay.  I swear by this little baby!  You can read my friend Amanda’s thoughts on this bar here; she’s a Beauty Counter consultant!

Beauty Counter Bronzer – I bought this on a whim, and I am so glad I did! I have very fair skin, and tend to think even the tiniest bit of bronzer makes me look like I have piled it on.  This one is more buildable and such a great, natural color.  I have stopped wearing blush most days and just do a dusting of this on the outside line of my face.

Beauty Counter Concealer Pen –  Can you tell I am on a Beauty Counter kick?  I love a great brush-on concealer, but they can be hard to find and pricey.  This one is SO great, and I am true concealer snob.  I have a hard time straying from my trusty Cle de Peau, but this stuff is pretty awesome.  It works under eyes and on blemishes, as well as for contouring and highlighting.

RMS Eye Polish in Magnetic –  I love RMS Beauty!  They’re another awesome, more natural brand.  Anthro carries them now, so I usually shop them there.  I have been really into potted eye shadows for a quick morning eye these days.  This color looks so much darker than it is, as it is a really subtle neutral shade and makes for a great base or stand alone color.  It swipes on very lightly and doesn’t crease throughout the day.

RMS Mix Master – I don’t even know where to begin with this product.  It is so unbelievably versatile and has so many uses.  It works as a shadow, highlighter, and lip gloss, and that is just what I use it for.  This is one of those items you can buy and only need your finger to use and get more than your money’s worth out of.

Have any great products you recommend? I would love to hear about them!
