The Weekend Round Up

Happy weekend lovelies!  Aren’t holiday season weekends just the best?  Sure, they are pretty jam-packed, but errands are so much better with Christmas tunes on the radio and streets lined with garland and sparkly lights.  I have massive holiday Christmas heart eyes right now!

On a random note, you are all my guru’s so I thought I would start here –  I need a better, efficient way to read and comment on all of my favorite blogs (the list is long!)  Is there an app you all recommend?  How best to do it on your phone or iPad?  Thanks for your help babes!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

+  You know I love a good DIY gift and this one is perfect for a friend who loves to cook.

+  I organize drawers obsessively, but the cost can add up.  This tutorial shows you how to make your own individual drawer organizers.  Do we think I could do this or can someone help me?

+  An oversized poncho (that is on sale) is a total win in my book.  Wear it at home or out and about for cozy chicness!

+  This skirt is giving me heart palpitations because I love it that hard!

+  I own every season of SATC on DVD and will never let those go.  Here is a list ranking every guy Carrie Bradshaw dated.  It. Is. Everything.

+  This is the most stunning serving board I have ever seen.  HIGH on the wish list!

+  I am trying to be as paleo and clean as we can when I cook dinner (it’s REALLY hard.)  This slow cooker beef is high on my recipes to try list.

+  This recipe is also on my clean eating “to make” list.

+  I am kind of coveting some faux antlers for a wall in our house somewhere.  What do you all think of these white ones?

+  This bowl with clips is a perfect holiday gift!  I want to snap these up for everyone!

Have a fabulous weekend!  -XO

Style | Blue on Blue

Shirt: Chicwish / Jeans: Paige / Bag: Tory Burch / Earrings: BaubleBar / Watch: Michele / Bracelet: Moon and Lola / Shoes: similar, similar

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Ugh, so I don’t like to start off with anything that is a downer, but I cannot stand blurry pictures!  Two things that make for really blurry pictures: wind and kids that will not stand still.  Please accept my apologies for the severe blurriness of these pictures due to frigid, bone chilling breezes and my wild little Greyson.  One I can’t stand, the other I adore.  I’ll let you decide which is which!

I don’t have ten zillion things to tell you guys today except I love blue and I really love this shirt.  It looks like chambray from far away but is more of a super soft, flowy material up close.  It is meant to be off the shoulder, but I actually really loved how it looked when it just was pulled all the way up.  It runs bigger and looser so don’t be scared by the S/M size option; it fits more like a one size fits all top.  Also an FYI, if you don’t have a steam dryer, it doesn’t wash well, you will need to iron or steam.  If I can find a way to make this work wrinkly chic you know I will! AND, it’s under $45!

Today is also a huge day for me because I won’t be making ridiculous faces with my mouth in pictures anymore! I am finally finishing up with my Invisalign and I feel like I will be getting my mouth back, but much improved!  I had a zillion questions before I did Invisalign, would anyone be interested in a post on it?

As always, thank you for stopping by my little corner of the world and have the best day! -XO

Shopping | Gifts for Her

It’s the most wonderful time of the yearrrrrr!  I am in full on Christmas cheer overload mode ladies (and gents?)  Our tree is up, cards are ordered and holiday candles are burning.  I know that every blogger has gotten a pretty good jump on gift guides this year, but I am just dragging my heels over here 😉

Today is my first gift guide for the lady in your life: wife, mother, sister, daughter, bestie!  Every one of these items is something I would buy for myself or one of the above, or already own, so I promise they are legit!

fleece vest – This is a workhorse item, but one that everyone will like.  It’s hard to say no to a great fleece!

cat flats – Perfect for the fashionista or cat lady (maybe I’m both) in your life.  These are the pricey, investment pieces on this list, but a classic that will last for years to come.

charm bracelet – This is the most girly girl bracelet that is adorable and fun to wear! I have another one by the same brand that is very similar and I adore it!

sweatshirt – This super fun Etsy shop has a ton of sweatshirts like this one with funny phrases on it.  These are so great for anyone who likes a little humor on your list!

open front cardigan – Open front cardigans are the epitome of comfy chic this season.  I wear mine as often as possible.  This is a win for everyone!

pink choker – Chokers are where it’s at in jewelry right now and this dainty beauty is perfect for a girly girl and doesn’t break the bank.

rice bead bracelet – Dainty, easy to wear jewelry is always a win in my book, especially at $30!

fitbit flex 2 – The new and updated version of the original Flex is AWESOME! I have it and love it! It’s lighter and sleeker and anyone who likes fitness will love this!

handbag – A fabulous, structured handbag with sleek lines and a fabulous buckle closure is hard to find at a decent price, but this one will do the job!  I recommend the gray, but there are a lot of great shades!

pony tail holder – Super cute pony tail holders are high on my radar lately, and this is perfect for a long sleek pony for a girl of any age!

Have a fabulous day! -XO

Happy Monday babes!  I’m rounding up all of the amazing Cyber Monday deals, some of which are even better than what was offered on Black Friday!  It is a lot of the same stores, which are where I shop.  Side note:  when I round up sales, even for a major shopping event, I make sure to only places that I actually shop at.  I’m sorry if I don’t have a spot you love on the list, but shoot me a note if there is something I am missing!

I keep seeing a bunch of awesome random deals, like 25% off DVDS and streaming from Pure Barre too!

Happy day before Thanksgiving!  I remember the college days when this was one of the best nights of the year.  Everyone would be home from their respective schools and meet up and rehash our adventures.  It was probably the day I most looked forward to in those four years.

Now, it means lots of prep work and cooking, but I love it!  I make cranberry sauce tonight from my best friend’s recipe, peel potatoes, etc.  Of course, a glass or two of wine is helpful in getting it all done most efficiently.

Be on the lookout for a LOT of sales starting late tonight and tomorrow.  I will have a Black Friday post going up Friday morning that I will continue to update as sales are added and change.  Until then, I rounded up a bunch of fun goodies to keep your eye out for!

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9

one – I splurged on a coat almost identical to this when I was pregnant with Greyson five years ago and it is still one of my favorite pieces in my closet.  It seems loud, but you would be surprised at how much wear it gets!

two – Off the shoulder AND florals?  I am eyeing this top hardcore.  I love a good floral pattern for the Winter because it is so unexpected.  I also love the under $100 price tag!

three – A big fat yes to all of the cozy open cardigans this season.  This is a trend I never want to leave! P.S. this beauty is less than $30!

four – I always say yes to Winter whites and this little number will take you through cold weather soirees (paired with black tights) into that Spring that I am already counting down until.

five – I love Patagonia so much and had something similar to this in college.  I need to invest in this because it’s great inside when it’s cold and under jackets when it’s just plain freezing out.  And, give me all of the Winter white!

six – These are such a major wish list item for me.  I cannot find a cute knock off anywhere, so I am going to swoon over these beauties until I get the balls to just buy them.

seven – Quay is quickly becoming my new favorite sunglass brand.  I have yet to find a pair I don’t love.  I tried these on in store and regret leaving without them.  They are coming home with me on my next mall trip!

eight – I have nothing to say about these except yes, just yes.

nine – Tiny handbags are my jam lately.  I used to love them when I was a teenager and had a small collection.  I spotted this beauty and know it would make any night out look!

Thank you for reading!  Have a fabulous Thanksgiving! -XO

Home | Thanksgiving Table + Dining Room Tour

I have been slacking big time in the home department of this blog space.  I am seriously obsessed with all things home decor and organizing and forget to share it.  I have an obnoxious habit of making my friends look at all of my home projects, so I figured I would take the heat off of them and share some of them with you guys!

Since we are only two (yes, TWO. How?!) days out from Thanksgiving, I thought it was the perfect time to share our dining room and my Thanksgiving table.

We are hosting Thanksgiving for the first time at our house this year.  We haven’t hosted a Thanksgiving since we lived in California, so this is extra fun for me.  I love being in charge (control freak) and being able to set the table using all of my special occasion pieces.  I also love to cook and let everyone else relax.  Josh does the turkey, so he really has the brunt of the work, but I do most of the sides and appetizers, while my mom does dessert.  And yes, we make it all gluten free to keep the masses happy.  Weird, but true!

I went with a white and subtle metallics theme for our table this year, because I always love all white all the time.  I listed my sources for everything below, but most of them aren’t easily shopable unfortunately.

Table and wood chairs: Vintage

Gray Chairs: Safavieh

Rug: Rugs USA

Flameless Candles: HomeGoods

Wood Center Piece: Home Goods

Table Runner: Home Goods

Table Cloth: Vintage

Wine Coaster: Boutique

Cloth Coaster: Gifted

Dishware: Bloomingdale’s

Champagne Flutes: HomeGoods

Napkins: Old

Napkin Rings: Bed Bath and Beyond

Dog Pillow: Aubusson

Throw: Pottery Barn

Hutch: Vintage

Mirrored Tray: Vintage

Pearls: Michael’s

Curtains: Pier 1 Imports

Black and white pillows: Etsy

Gray pillows: Jane

How are you celebrating this Thanksgiving?  If you have any great dish recommendation, let me know, I am always on the hunt for great sides!

Thank you for reading and have a fabulous day! -XO

Style | Stitch Fix Look

Sweater: Stitch Fix / Pants: Stitch Fix / Shoes: Steve Madden, old, this year’s style here / Bag: Zac Posen / Earrings: via Rocksboxuse code LINDSAYBFF13 for a free month when you sign up!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Happy Monday babes!  Today I want to chat about one of my favorite subscription services for fashion: Stitch Fix.

First, let’s talk about Stitch Fix.  I signed up for this monthly delivery almost three years ago.  A stylist will pull five items for you to try on at home and return.  You pay a $20 styling fee and the price comes off of anything you purchase.  If you purchase everything, you get a discount as well.  I love it because there are always pieces I would never normally seek out for myself, but end up really loving when they are at my doorstep.

In my last box, I received a bunch of pieces, but only ended up keeping two.  Most of what I got was so made for me that I already owned things exactly like them.  I decided to keep this awesome sweater for two reasons: it’s big and snuggly and it has THUMB HOLES! I wear it at least twice a week and it is the  I also kept these jeans because the color is so different and pairs really well with white, grey, pink, and tan, aka the colors of my wardrobe.  It’s a fun pop of color, plus the fit is spot on.  Any pair of jeans that doesn’t need to be hemmed is a huge win in my book!

This post is not sponsored by Stitch Fix at all, I just really love the brand and the company, and getting my fixes!  A couple of good tips are to be VERY specific when you fill out your personal style survey and don’t be afraid to update it and change it from time to time.  If you see something someone has from Stitch Fix that you love, note it and put that note in your “tell your stylist” section.  Finally, make a Pinterest board just for your fixes.  Your stylists will look directly at this to get an idea of what you are looking for.

You can sign up for your own fix here.

P.S. Request Courtney F. as a stylist!  She’s a very good friend of mine who is really, really good at her job!

Thank you for reading and have a fabulous day!  -XO

The Weekend Round Up

Happy Friday beautiful people!  I am so happy for this weekend because it is the last relaxing one before the holidays kick into full gear and it’s all craziness and go, go, go from here on out.  You all know me and my craziness, so that means a weekend full of organizing and home projects (poor Josh!)

I have been working on our Thanksgiving table, since we are hosting this year, and I am really happy with how it is coming out.  Since my mom is gluten free and I try to be for the most part, it is going to be an entirely gluten free menu this year from appetizers to dinner to dessert.  I can share any recipes if anyone is interested!  Thank goodness wine is gluten free!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  Well, it’s getting VERY close to it.  So many pre-black Friday sales have started and I feel like I am getting crazy coupons and discounts from my favorite brands and websites on the daily.  It’s so tempting not to scoop everything up for myself, so restraint is key.  However, a few things here or there never hurt, and for all of the work the holiday seasons require, why not treat yourself?

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9

one – The perfect, easy little to dress to throw on.  With so many holiday parties and dressier occasions on the calendar, something like this is great to have on hand.

two – I am all about the cape trend this season.  I love that this one comes with a true sleeve, great neck and is under $100!

three – I have been on an endless hunt for a great (faux) leather moto jacket.  This one is cute and budget-friendly!  I love this shade of brown especially because it will match so much.  My only worry is the sleeves.  I have short arms and can’t stand when things are too long on me.  Does anyone have this and have an information on it?

four – I own these in pink and they have quickly become a staple in my jewelry rotation.  This ombre gray pair is so chic and doesn’t break the bank!

five – These APL shoes are the brand Kourtney Kardashian swears by.  I always need new sneakers and the ones I want are always sold out.  Has anyone ever tried this brand?  Are they worth they hype?  I’m thinking of trying them purely based on the adorableness.  I mean, gray AND gold in a sneaker?  Yes, please!

six – I am in love with pale bags right now, especially anything lilac or close to it.  I already have this bag in light blue, but this shade is calling my name!  Plus, it’s on sale!

seven – I love my other CSV charm bracelet, but this one is so girly and cute!

eight – I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of pink flats.  I am kicking myself for not picking these up during the last Shopbop sale!

nine – I am always on the lookout for awesome peep toe booties.  I cannot get enough of these shoes!  This stacked heel and cut out back gives it so much edge.

Thank you for reading and have a fabulous day!  -XO
